This week in Peterborough, there’s a mix of creative expression and community celebration across the city. You can find fresh takes on contemporary theatre at Flip Out Peterborough - Soft Play, where Mask Theatre presents an exciting festival of 21st century plays. If you’re keen on live music that spans boyband nostalgia to classical remixes by candlelight, New Theatre Peterborough delivers with acts like Boyzlife and Showaddywaddy. On Thursday at 7:30pm, the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performs POP goes CLASSICAL by candlelight in Peterborough Cathedral, a rare chance to hear pop songs reimagined in a historic space.

For families, Ferry Meadows hosts a spring celebration weekend with outdoor games, craft stations, and interactive exhibits. Tiny tots can join themed story sessions at walk-in groups on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 10:30am to 12 noon. These are led by local volunteers experienced in early years education.

At Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery, life drawing and painting workshops run every weekend between 1pm and 4pm. The sessions feature professional models in seated poses with easels, sketchbooks, and oil or watercolour materials provided on site. The museum’s education team has previously collaborated with the Peterborough Art Society on these events.

On Thursday at 7:30pm, don't miss the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performing POP goes CLASSICAL by candlelight in Peterborough Cathedral. For a more relaxed evening, New Theatre is packed out through Sunday night with performances by Geoff Norcott and other acts spanning British pop history.
